She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Harris and Elise Harris; her daughter Connie Harris; and her siblings, Marvin Harris and Bernice Jones.
She is survived by: her nephew Douglas; her children, Lawrence Polite Jr. of St. Petersburg and Maxine Harris Gaddy of Columbus, Georgia.; her grandchildren, Lawrence Polite III, Kaila Polite, Khalil Gaddy and Lorenzo Polite; and her sisters, Ernestine Walthour and Deloris Carswell of Richmond Hill, Georgia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
