He is survived by: his daughter Rebecca Lavender of Tennessee; and his siblings, Joe Lavender of Milledgeville, John Lavender of Milledgeville, David Lavender of Milledgeville and Anita Lavender of Macon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
