Elijah Barnes Sr. and Eva Mae Barnes of Milledgeville, Georgia; his siblings, Rev. Elijah Barnes Jr. (Brenda) of Milledgeville, Eric Barnes (Stacy) of Snellville, Georgia, Jerome Marshall of Sparta, Georgia, Gail Barnes-Kelly (Leonard) of Sparta, Juliette Barnes-Dixon of Milledgeville, Paula Barnes-Dixon of Sparta and Khadija Hill of Washington, D. C.; his aunts, Gloria Davenport of Devereux, Marion Jean Cummings, Annie Barnes of Milledgeville, Thelma Owens (Tom) of Phoenixville Pennsylvania, Willie Mae Reaves (Kenneth), Louise Clark (Bennie), Shirley Justice, Emma Mae Justice of Sparta, Georgia and Alma Brown of Sparta, GA; his uncle James Barnes (Irene) of Boston, Massachusetts; and his close friends, Carl Justice, Jerome Davis, Barrett Harper and Larry "Pete" Robertson. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.

Due to COVID restrictions the family ask for privacy during the week and that friends join them only at the repast following the services.
