He was predeceased by : his parents, Charlie H. Batson and Sarah Ruth Stubbs; his wives, Mary Simmerson Batson and Joann Harris Humphreys Batson; his son David Patrick Batson; and his sisters, Elizabeth Batson, Martha Mills Wiley, Jean B. Smith and Dorothy B. Bennett.

He is survived by : his daughters, Rose Mary Batson and Carol Lynn Batson McCook; his sister Carolyn B. Smith Anderson; his granddaughter Meredith McCook of Milledgeville; and his stepchildren, Ronnie Humphreys, Vivian Boyce and Donna Estes.
