He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Jerry Brett, Sr. and Marolyn Sheppard Brett; and his brother William "Cody" Brett. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Walker Brett of Milledgeville; his children, Brian Brett of Milledgeville and Amy Brett Powell (Chad) of New York; his grandchildren, Emma Powell, Brett Powell, Jessi Powell and Lexi Powell; and his siblings, Jerry Brett (Janet), David Brett (Carol), Charles Brett, Mickey Brett (Elaine) and Debbie Schmalz (Fred).

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Pancreatic Association, P.O. Box 352406, Miami, FL 33135.
