He was predeceased by: his wife Julie Jenkins Gainey; and his grandson Asa Tamblyn. He is survived by: his parents, Bill Gainey and Wilma Gainey of Millen; his daughters, Hope Tamblyn (David) of Twin City, Jordan Wooten (Tom) of Tacoma and Anna Dryer (Brad) of Millen; his siblings, Monica Johnson (John Paul), Brett Gainey (Jennifer) and Rhonda Barnes (Jason); his grandchildren, Kendall, Josiah Tamblyn, Miya, Kaylyn, Hadley, Blythe Wooten, Brie and Banks Dryer; and his great grandchild Kyzer Wooten.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Oak Hill Baptist Church (3233 Oak Hill Church Rd, Millen, GA 30442). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
