He is survived by: his wife Angela McDaniel Cato; his children, Ricky Cato, Michelle Freeman, Barry Cato (Beth), Cindy Hudson, Amy Harrill and Janet Heath; his grandchildren, Chad Cato, Kathryn McFarlan, Christy Baker (Bill), Grant Cato (Clarisse), Kyle Cato (Heather), Adam Hudson (Katlyn), Kayla Cato, Lauren Epperson, Katie Harrill, Tyler Cato, Matthew Harrill (Ashley) and Benjamin Heath-Hardy; his great grandchildren, Rebecca, Madison Cauthen, Devin Cato (Caitlyn), Alaina Cato, Brylee Tillery, Jake McFarlan, Cohen, Landon Epperson, Karli, Kyndall, Kaci Cato, Addyson, Brycen, Evelyn Harrill, Mary Frances Hudson and Weston Cato; and his sister-in-law Helen Cato. He is also survived by niece, nephew and cousins.
