He was predeceased by: his grandparents, R. M. and Mattie Jewel Gunter; his mother Marguerite Gunter Kelley; his stepfather Willie Thomas Kelley, Sr.; his father John Robert Hoard, Sr.; and his brothers, John Robert "Billy" Hoard, Jr. and Willie Thomas "Tommy" Kelley, Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Hoard (Alisa) and Shannon Hoard Phillips (Tyler Phillips); his grandchildren, Nicholas Hoard, Braxton Hoard, Kinslee Ann Craven, MaKenna Craven and Brenden Phillips; his great grandchild Lennox Hoard; his sister Pamela "Pam" Kelley Ray (Alan); and his sister-in-law Cathy Kelley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
