She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Witcher and Viola Gresham Witcher; her husband James H. "Pete" Shumate; and her brothers, Lewis Witcher, Bobby Witcher and Raymond Witcher.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy Conger (Steve) of Monroe and Larry Shumate Lady Lake (Rheda Gail); her grandchildren, Beth Prater, Christy Garcia, Krissy Berger, Larah Sheppard, Amy Conger, Jameson Shumate and Johnathan Conger; her sister-in-law Angelyn Shumate; her siblings, Junaita Mitchem, Reba White, Ralph Witcher and Randy Witcher; and her sisters-in-law, Alice Peace, Patricia Witcher and Paulette Thornton. She is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
