He was predeceased by: his significant other Joyce Elaine Keown (Judy); his sisters, Louise Smith Laslie, Vesta Violet Smith Staal (Mickey) and Nancy Ann Smith; his son-in-law Jeffrey Adam Kimbrell; and his parents, John Girard Smith and Bessie Shook Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Ann Smith Kimbrell and John Girard Smith (Pamela Johnson Smith); his grandsons, Joshua Adam Kimbrell, Jordan Edward Kimbrell (Brooke Rabon), Andrew Girard Smith (Sarah Harris Smith) and Caleb Blake Smith; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Sophia Kimbrell, Calum and Stella Smith; and his brother Frank Lewis Smith. He is also survived by his numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Meadows Funeral Home (760 GA-11, Monroe, GA 30655). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home (760 GA-11, Monroe, GA 30655).
