He is survived by: his wife Mary Webb Lane of Monroe, GA; his son Major Walter Lane II; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Gibson Lane of Social Circle, GA; his sister Linda Lane Gregory of Goldsboro; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Coble Duncan, Tanner Benjamin Coble, Conner Lee Coble, George Walter Lane and Samuel Gibson Lane; and his great grandchildren, Wyatt Benjamin Coble, Ellen Josephine Coble, Landon Benjamin Coble and Nathaniel James Coble.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel (4226 E Church St, Farmville, NC 27828).
