Richard Comer Sr. Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Richard Comer Sr. of Monroe, Georgia. Richard, born on August 13, 1938, passed away on September 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Durward Comer and Emma Florine Jackson Comer; his former wife Barbara Laura Blalock Comer; his wife Mary Ann Long Comer; and his siblings, Robert Haralson, Reba Bowen, Velma Watts, Edna Warren and Hazel Roberts.

He is survived by: his children, Deane Comer (Corrine) of Monroe County, Renee C. Jones of Monroe County and Shane Comer (Jennifer) of Monroe County; his sister Estelle Herndon (Robert) of Macon; and his brother-in-law Elwyn Blalock (Judy) of Monroe County. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hart's Mortuary (6324 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 3:15 PM at the Macon Memorial Park Cemetery (3969 Mercer University Dr, Macon, GA 31204).
