He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Herman Murell and Sarah Lou Murell; his half-siblings, Harvey Kennedy (Doris), Carl Kennedy (Doris) and Inez Clements (Wallace); and his siblings, Reverend Robert Herman Murell (Avis) and Joyce Sullivan (Buddy).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane Simonton Murell; his sons, Clinton Thomas Murell (Sandra) of Monroe and Steven Edward Murell (Kelly) of Social Circle, Georgia.; his grandchildren, Jake Murell (Jaime) of Monticello, Georgia, Paul Murell (Verna) of Duluth, Georgia, Katie Bruder (Lucas) of Hazel Green, Alabama, Rachel McCart (Devon) of Monroe, Georgia, Luke Murell (Makenzie) of Monroe, Georgia, Robby Jones (Linea) of Leominster Massachusetts and Rebecca Redding (Jason) of Madison, Georgia; and his great grandchildren, McKenzie, Brody, Colton, Braxton, Lawson, Amelia, Madelyn and Lauren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
