It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Layfield Miller of Montezuma, Georgia, born in Ideal, Georgia, who passed away on June 1, 2022, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Elijah Layfield and Mattie Mae Hines Layfield; her husband Gene Miller; her former life partner Johnnie Layfield; her children, James Ralph Layfield and Evie Bartlett; her siblings, Jeanette Kirksey, Frances Hobbs, Herbert Layfield and H. L. Layfield; and her son-in-law Billy Bartlett.

She is survived by : her grandchildren, William Thomas Bartlett (Candis) of Gray and Sandra Lynn Goodwin of Montezuma, Georgia; and her siblings, Sammie Layfield of Ellaville, Shirley Pollock of Cordele and Gloria Price (Frank) of Okeechobee, Florida.
