He is survived by: his wife Elaine Thomas of Moreland; his sons, Joseph Thomas of Newnan and John Thomas (Tanya) of Sylacauga, AL; his grandchildren, Nathan Thomas (Abbie), Harlie Thomas and Alan Duffey; his great grandchildren, Chloe Duffey and Alan Duffey, Jr.; and his sisters, JoAnn Shortsleeve (Paul) of Sterling, MA, Joy Martin of Newnan and Judy Turpin of Zebulon.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home (208 Johnson St, Hogansville, GA 30230). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at the Luthersville Cemetery Church (13 Church St, Luthersville, GA 30251).
