He is survived by: his wife Trudy Davies Mathis of Morganton; his brother Jackie; his sister-in-law Jayme Mathis of Amarillo, CA.; his daughter-in-law Ginger Mathis of Newnan, GA.; and his grandchildren, Luther Cager Mathis IV, Tristan Gordon Mathis and Takoda Mathis.
