He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Cooper, Sr. and Sarah Lucille Merritt Cooper; and his siblings, Alma Molkey, Johnny Cooper, James Edward Cooper, Danny Ray Cooper, Jerome Cooper, Linda Sue Adle, Betty Joyce Gray and Martha Jean Berger.

He is survived by: his wife Rachel Cooper of Morven; his children, Brandy Rogers (Howard) of Valdosta, Thomas Cooper (Tardina) of Nashville, Joshua Brandon of Valdosta, Jeremy Cooper of Morven and Jonathan Clark of Morven; his grandchildren, Jordan, Kristen, Jacie, Zaeleigh and Ava; his sisters, Glenda Alexander (Jimmy) of Hahira and Brenda Knight of Nashville; and his close friend Ervin Lawson. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Morven Baptist Church (11180 Adel Hwy, Morven, GA 31638). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
