As Elois departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Elois. Though Elois may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Gay Sr. and Flossie Louette Plymel Gay; her husband Joseph Ephraim Matthews Jr.; and her brother Robert Gay Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Debra Matthews Cervetti Hampton and Joseph Ephraim Matthews III; her siblings, Bobbie Jean Gay Harris, Shirley Gay Dampier and Dickie Gay; and her granddaughters, Chelsi Gene Cervetti Miller, Calais Cervetti Kruse and Caylin Cervetti Moen. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Cobb Funeral Chapel (2441 Camilla Hwy, Moultrie, GA 31768). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
