He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Lee Summerlin and Tommie Dell Crook Summerlin; his wife Myrtle Lee Biggles Summerlin; his daughter Judy Ann Summerlin Dobbs; and his siblings, Nadine Leonard, Rev. Ralph Summerlin and Bertice Summerlin.
He is survived by: his children, Shelvie Summerlin, Jr. (Barbara), Dewey Scott Summerlin (Debra), Deborah Summerlin Sanders (Steve) and John Summerlin (Terry); his grandchildren, Ricky Summerlin (Stephanie), Keith Summerlin (Jayna), Jason Dobbs, Joshua Dobbs, Jeff Summerlin, Ashley Summerlin (Lindsay), Kristie Clason (Marty), Mike Sanders (Rebekah), Jonathan Summerlin (Krysta), Andrew Summerlin (Beckie) and Justin Summerlin; and his siblings, Louise Clanton, Ben Summerlin and Lynn Summerlin. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
