He was predeceased by: his parents, Auburn Dewey Chitty and Ida Louise McMullen Chitty. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lynn Strickland Chitty; his children, Brent Chitty (Stephanie), Stacy Chitty (Kelli) and Celina Williams (Sebron); his grandchildren, Whitney Smith (Chad), Seth Chitty, Macie Kindler (Adam), Jessi Faust (Robbie), Madi Tye (Joel), Grace Nix (Austin), Caroline Morris (Mack), Cade Chitty and Calli Beth Chitty; Auburn P. Chitty (Alicia) of Boston. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (400 S Main St, Moultrie, GA 31768). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church building fund or charity of your choice.
