Billy leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Billy’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Billy will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: W. R. "Bob" Burrell and Bertha Holcomb Burrell; wife: Georgie Eugenie Smith Burrell; daughter: Neysa Joy Burrell; brother: Rev. Walter Burrell; sister: Lila (Johnny Brown); sisters-in-law: Pat Burrell, Helen Smith, and Floy Smith; niece: Melody Burrell (Karl Maxwell); nephews: Bob (Sheila Burrell), Greg (Lauralee Burrell), and Bill (Cyndi Burrell); other: Rev. Phillip Yarber and Rev. Kenneth McEntire; and a host of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home (175 VFW Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
