He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mercer Thompson and Christine Evelyn Green Thompson; and his brothers, David Welch Thompson and John Paul Thompson. He is survived by: his daughter Christi Thompson Gillis (Jim); his grandchildren, Griffin Gillis (Allie), Garrett Gillis and Gracen Gillis; his great grandchildren, Briar Gillis and Brix Gillis; his brother Dannie Thompson of Uvalda; and his nephews, Brett Thompson of Gray's Landing and Jimmy Thompson of Collins. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
