He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaretta Abercrombie Smith (Raptis) and Johnny K. Abercrombie; his stepfather Loy L. Smith; his brother Jack Abercrombie; and his grandson Athanasius Abercrombie.
He is survived by: his nephew Jack Abercrombie; his children, Nick Abercrombie of Gainesville, FL, Steve Abercrombie (Carol) of Hardeeville, SC, Jeff Abercrombie of Rome, GA and Mary Kate Abercrombie of Henderson, KY; his brother Johnny Abercrombie (Peggy) of Douglasville, GA; his half-brother Charlie Abercrombie (Janet) of Murrayville, GA.; and his wife Lois Randolph Abercrombie of Gainesville, GA.. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and numerous beloved cousins that were more like siblings.
