With solemn reverence, we commemorate Juanita Highsmith Chesser of Nahunta, Georgia, whose life came to an end on May 28, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Edwin Highsmith and Mary Todd Highsmith; her husband Samuel "Sam" Chesser; her grandson John Samuel Chesser; her daughter-in-law Annette Chesser; and her niece Betty Jo McGarrity.
She is survived by: her children, Barry S. Chesser (Sandra) of Nahunta, Elaine Wilson (Hubert) of Nahunta and Arlene Jacobs (David) of Nahunta; her grandchildren, Kevin Wilson (Shea), Karla Perkins (Rege), Natalie Jacobs, Barry "Bo" Chesser (Cristina) and Ashlie Mudge (Christopher); her great grandchildren, Westin Perkins, Kali Perkins, Samuel Chesser, Eli Chesser, Caleb Mudge, Blake Mudge, Regan Perkins, Walker Wilson and Katelyn Wilson; her stepgrandchildren, Sarah Johns and Austin Harris (Sloan); her stepgreat-grandchildren, Holden Harris and Danni Grace Johns; and her niece Diane Lake (Joe) of Nahunta. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and everyone in her family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM and on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Frye Funeral Home (136 Satilla Ave, Nahunta, GA 31553). Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at the Oakgrove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nahunta First Baptist Church and any special needs children's ministry.
