It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janie Brooks of Nashville, Georgia, born in Athens, Tennessee, who passed away on February 12, 2023, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Jacob Lee Benton and Kathleen Snead Goodman; her stepfather J. B. Goodman; and her siblings, Annetta Brady, June Cooper, Betty Browning, David Benton and J. L. Goodman.

She is survived by : her children, Joella Adams (Steve) of Nashville, Callie Harrell (Chase) of Lenox and Rocky Stone (Jessica) of Alapaha; her sisters, Diane Sirmans (Mike) of Valdosta, Nancy Flippo (Duane) of Poulan, Peggy Goodman of Blackshear and Pauline Blount (Darrell) of Nashville; her grandchildren, Kymber Stone, Carolina Harrell and Margo Harrell; and her pet Darla. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Humane Society.
