She was predeceased by : her parents, William Gaskins and Gladys Hardy Gaskins; her husband Rev. John Robert "Junior" Swain, Jr.; and her siblings, Sherlon Lovett and Ronald Gaskins.

She is survived by : her children, Debra Prince (Ricky) of Metter, Brenda Swain of Nashville and Don Swain (Vicki) of Nashville; her brother James Darrell Gaskins of McMinnville, OR; and her grandchildren, Rev. Deran Hardeman (Darlene), Craig Hardeman (Meshea), Caleb Hardeman (Mandi), Eric Swain (Valerie), Leanne Walden and Andrew Swain (Sara Jean). She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
