He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Cates and Mattie Cates; his wife Peggy Cates; and his siblings, Don and Sandra.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna (Buck Wilder), Angela (Kim Morris), Christine Roysden (Keith) and Jeannie Clanton (Gary Morris); and his grandchildren, Christy, Nycole, Shauna, Laura, Frank, Chris, Jacob, Alex, Colleen, Devin, Samuel, Foster and Deven. He is also survived by great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Henry Funeral Home (6833 Church St, Lithonia, GA 30058). A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Hillandale Memorial Park (6201 Hillandale Dr, Lithonia, GA 30058).
