She was predeceased by : her parents, John Hamrick and Nancy Hamrick; and her sibling Cayden Waldrop. She is survived by : her husband David Floyd Abernathy; her children, Stephen Scroggins, Daniel Denny and Stephanie Scroggins (Kayla); her stepchildren, Christopher Showalter, Heather Abernathy, Holly Abernathy and Haley Hartl; and her grandchildren, Amelia, Kara, Annabelle, Rose, Lily, Aaron, Alex, Alayna, Damon, Joanie, Titan, Onyx, Amarah and Ayesha.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the South Canton Funeral Home (3147 Marietta Hwy, Canton, GA 30114). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home (3147 Marietta Hwy, Canton, GA 30114). A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Georgia National Cemetery.
