He was predeceased by: his parents, Gaither Harris and Lillie Gamble Harris; his former wife Alice Smith Harris; and his siblings, James, Ernest, Frank Harris, Dot Culbertson, Shirley Tomblin, Lucy Harris and Olema Harris.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Harris; his children, Tommy Inman (Pam), Susie King (Richard) and Amy Boehms; his grandchildren, Britt Inman (Veronika), Ben Inman (Kirsten), Brooke Owens (Ryan) and Thomas Goldberg; and his sibling's children, Mike Harris (Lisa), Mary Kathryn Taylor and Karen Harris. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
