He was predeceased by: his parents, Cebrun Turner Motes and Rubye Ellen Motes; his brothers, Jalvis Motes and Sherrill Motes; and his brothers-in-law, Ray Glisson, Fritz Couch and Timothy Couch.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Couch Motes; his daughters, Angela Bowers (Wade) and Tracy Liles (Terry); his grandchildren, Brian Bowers (Kaley), Michael Bowers, Caitlyn Triggs (Jared) and Garrett Liles; his great grandchildren, Colter and Birdie Bowers; his siblings, Durward Motes (Jean) and Marilyn Glisson; and his sisters-in-law, Gail Motes, Marie Motes and Jeannie Couch. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the McKoon Funeral Home (38 Jackson St, Newnan, GA 30263). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (656 Roscoe Rd, Newnan, GA 30263).
