Richard D. Rye Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard D. Rye (Newnan, Georgia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 14, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Richard is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Richard's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sivert Rye and Evangeline Rye; and his brother-in-law Gerald "Jerry" Mills. He is survived by: his daughters, Kristin Rossey (Matt) of Newnan, GA and Shelly Brooks (Kyle) of Newnan, GA; his grandchildren, Corey Brooks of Newnan, Ryan Brooks of Newnan and Jillian Rossey of Newnan; his sister Sylvia Mills of Baton Rouge, LA; and his sibling's children, Jeralyn Ducote of Baton Rouge, LA, Rick Mills (Jennifer) of Lake Charles, LA and Ron Mills (Sheila) of Harahan, LA. He is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
