It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merrida Espy McNeal of Newton, Georgia, who passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Merrida had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Merrida may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Howell Espy McNeal and Emily Aline Howard McNeal; and his wife Nancy Carole Baker McNeal. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Dean McNeal (Renee Gail) and Scott McNeal; his sister Lena Sue Acosta; his grandchildren, Angela Marie Joiner and Ashley Dale West (Mike); and his great grandchildren, Cassie Leann Joiner, Chloe Marie Joiner, Colby Matthew Joiner and Michael Hudson West.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home (410 E Broad St, Camilla, GA 31730).
