He was predeceased by : his parents, Everett Pinson and Edna Pinson Cox; his son Cory Pinson; and his siblings, Sam Pinson and Glenda Meeks.

He is survived by : his wife Judy Ann Murray Pinson; his children, Charles Justin "C. J." Pinson (Katherine) and Cindi Vanessa Pinson Rembert (Carson); and his sisters, Becky Pinson Hollis and Lynn Martin (Barry Radeka). He is also survived by three grandchildren.
