He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Bernard and Grace Rudolph Ayers; his wife Lena Ruth Ayers; and his brothers, Don, Jim, Jack and Alan Ayers.
He is survived by: his children, Bill Ayers (Fran) of Watkinsville, GA and Lisa Ayers Arcaro (Joe); his grandchildren, James Ayers (Rachel), Justin Ayers and Zach Ayers (Marissa); and his stepgrandsons, Brandon Williams and Blake Williams (Angel). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Phil's honor to the Prince Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 2131 Ruth Jackson Road, Bogart, GA 30622.
