She was predeceased by : her parents, Joe Shelnut and Elizabeth Simmons Shelnut; her former life partner Paul Talmadge Hawks; her husband Dennis Reed McNabb, Sr.; and her daughter-in-law Janet Hawks.

She is survived by : her children, Greg Hawks of Nicholson, Vickie Prickett (Brantley) of Carnesville, Terri Craig (Jody) of Hull, Amanda Manning (Bo) of Commerce and Cindy Smith of Nicholson; and her caregiver Brooklynn Wyatt. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the New Harmony Baptist Church (8816 GA-334, Nicholson, GA 30565). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
