He is survived by: his wife Jean Lawhorne Phipps; his children, Katie Sartoris (Vinny) of Galax, Virginia, Michelle Norman of Winston-Salem and Russ Vick (Sam) of Atlanta; his grandchildren, Alex Sartoris, Noah Norman, Caitlin Carver, James Vick, Amanda Vick and Josh Vick; his sister Nancy Williams (Scatter) of Lillian, Alabama.; and his siblings-in-law, Donnie Lawhorne, Gail Lawhorne, Kevin Williams and Janet Williams.
