He was predeceased by: his parents, William Crain and Hazel Kirkpatrick Crain; his brothers, Jack and Bob Crain; and his grandson Sammy Crain II.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Crain; and his children, Samuel K. Crain of Salisbury and Cindy Thompson of Thomasville. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Barnetts Creek Baptist Church (27 Maddox Rd, Ochlocknee, GA 31773). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
