He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosa Mae Wilcox Merritt and John L. Merritt Sr. Mr (Merritt). He is survived by: his wife Mary Merritt of Ocilla Georgia; and his children, Deidree Jenkins of Atlanta Georgia and Laquitta Merritt of McDonald Georgia. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
