She was predeceased by : her father Willie Alvin Pickens; her husband Dr. James H. Hinson, Jr.; her mother Gussie Mae Harris Pickens; and her siblings, Ralph Pickens (Zola Pickens), Howard Pickens (Gladys Pickens), Viola Beatrice Pickens, Floyd Pickens (Margie Pickens) and James Pickens (Melba Pickens).
She is survived by : her children, Jan Valerie, Debra Clymer (David Clymer) and James Harrison Hinson, III (Jay); her grandchildren, Kimberly Tucker (Clint Tucker), Will Pitts (Emily Pitts), Courtney Goodrich (Dave Goodrich), Jeffrey Caughey, Jordan Caughey (Charity Caughey), Hannah Clymer Thompson (Cameron Thompson), Harrison Clymer (Courtney Clymer) and Reid Clymer (Lauren Clymer); and her great grandchildren, Haley, Claire, Audrey Tucker, Brittan, Will Pitts, Austin, Aiden, Asher Goodrich, James Caughey, Lila, Hunt Clymer and Ashton Clymer.
She served as President of the Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge, an organization founded to teach children our country's founding, constitutional principles.
