She was predeceased by : her parents, Eddie Lee Chambliss and Hannah Blue Thomas; her siblings, Ouida Wright and Aaron Baisden; her spouse Orbie Minter; and her daughter Mary Ellen Sims.

She is survived by : her children, Dorothy Laster, Ethelene Edge, Arbie Ann Gordon (Richard), John Thomas Minter (Brenda), Rodolph Minter (Annie), Hannah D. Minter, James Minter and Cara Stewart (Charlie); her son-in-law Harold Sims; and her pet Rascal. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren.

Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.

“Emma represented everything that is good, peaceful, loving, and caring to all our family. The memories and thankfulness our sons expressed regarding her could fill a book. Next to my own mother, Emma was the closest woman I’ve ever had in my life. She showed me how to be a mother to my own children and her example was a gift from God to me. I’ll never be able to express the depth of my gratitude until I see her in Glory, but my heart is filled with beautiful memories.”
