He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Mayo and Effie Cromer Mayo. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Mayo; his son Michael "Keith" Mayo (Amber) of Evans, Georgia; his sister Joyce Lewis of Montezuma, Georgia; his brothers-in-law, Eugene Stuckey, Mitchell Stuckey (Inez), Larry Stuckey (Penny) and Milton Allen (Kay); and his granddaughter Ava Mayo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Whitewater Baptist Church (1955 GA-128, Oglethorpe, GA 31068). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, May 9th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church.
