She was predeceased by : her parents, Thelma Curgil and Collin Bentley Jr.; her son Eddie Simpson; and her siblings, Mary Yarn, Willie Bee Williams, Doris Chatman and Lila Bentley.

She is survived by : her children, James Bentley (Cynthia Grooms Bentley) of Atlanta, Georgia and Stephanie Chatman (Danny Chatman) of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandchildren, Courtney McKinzie, Kacy Coleman Jr., Meleke Cotton and Toniko Cotton; her great grandchildren, King Bentley, Kimora Bentley, Temari Cotton, Tahir Cotton, Harlem Coleman, Tarah and Tobias Bentley; and her sisters, Marie Walker and Georgie Lee Spivey. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
