We are sad to announce that on November 16, 2019 we had to say goodbye to Winnie Thomas (Palmetto, Georgia), born in Waynesville, Georgia. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Winnie Thomas to show support.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Roy and Coyla Rhoden Drury; and her siblings, Roberta Colson, Jaurelle Berlin and Eugene Drury.

She is survived by: her husband Lyde; her daughter Sherry Strang Carter (Ervin) of Palmetto; her grandchildren, Andy Carter (Aimee) of Macon and Jenny Carter Wallace (Jordan) of Palmetto; her great grandchild Carter Wallace; her stepson Terry Thomas (Alice); her grandsons, Justin Thomas and Eric Thomas; and her stepson Steve Thomas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donation be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.

“I didn’t know Ms. Winnie that well, but I had the pleasure of working at her assisted living facility for about a month. I heard the news of her fall and then her passing. I send prayers to her family and friends. She was a wonderful lady and kept me laughing. She will forever have a place in my heart. RIP Winnie Thomas”
