He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Hyers and Elouise Griner Hyers; his daughter Anna Lisa Hyers Keith; and his siblings, Marjorie Hyers Bland, Beverly Hyers Johnson Hires and Cleve Hyers.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Davis Hyers of Patterson; his daughters, Carla Tuten (Terry) of Hahira, Holly Yeomans (Scott) of Mershon and Merry Gayle Boatright (Lin) of Blackshear; his grandchildren, Deanna Smoak, Lee Yeomans (Danielle), Cliff Knowlton (Ellen), Julianna Anderson (Josh), Caroline Murray (Tyler), Laura Kate Dixon (Blake), Merry Chandler Keith, Davis Callahan (Mac), Hayden Knowlton, Jackson Knowlton and Anna Lisa Sturdivant (Chandler); and his sister Claudia Hyers Boatright of Bremen. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren and many extended family.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Patterson Baptist Church (5770 Main St, Patterson, GA 31557). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
