It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Roger Alvin Coursey of Peachtree City, Georgia, who passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. For Roger is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elzie Roy Coursey and Erma Mae DeMoss; and his brothers, Burl and Cecil Coursey. He is survived by: his close friend Tommie Jean Echols of Peachtree City, GA.; and his children, Debora Coursey (Debbie), Bonnie Coursey of Galt, CA., Patricia Compton (Chris) of Coos Bay, OR., Mark Coursey (Christie) of Powder Springs, GA. and Jason Coursey of Smyrna, GA.. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Memorial Park Funeral Homes (4121 Falcon Pkwy, Flowery Branch, GA 30542).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to one's favorite veterans' charity.
