Doug will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Though Doug is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Doug’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Green Barry Palmer, Jr. and Irene Francis Carr; his brother Lewis Lanning (MD); and his grandson Peter Frank Palmer. He is survived by: his children, Douglas Palmer, Jr., Richard Willis and Audrey Palmer; and his sisters, Donna Longerbeam of Kearneysville, W. V. and Cathleen Lanning (Odenton, MD).
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Willis Jamerson Braswell Funeral Home (176 Hand Ave W, Pelham, GA 31779). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Mizpah Church Cemetery (189 Mizpah Rd, Pelham, GA 31779).
