He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Solomon and Virginia Ware Godwin. He is survived by: his wife Jan Adams Godwin of Pelham; his son James Emory Godwin, Jr. (Jamie); his grandsons, Stetson James Godwin of Scottsdale, AZ and Bryce Emory Godwin of Scottsdale, AZ; his daughter Jana Godwin Singleton (Tracy); his grandchildren, Sydney Singleton Bentley (Trevor) of Pelham and John Adam Singleton (Meredith) of Nashville, TN; and his brother Maston Ware Godwin, Sr. (Melody) of Camilla. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
