He was predeceased by: his parents, Gardner Watson and Laura May Draper Watson; his wife Dawne Shaw Watson; his sister Martha Lynn "Dee Dee"; and his brother-in-law Ed Hunt.
He is survived by: his children, Terrell D. "Terry" Watson, Jr. (Jennifer) of Mountain Brook, Alabama, Dr. Travis Watson (Cameron) of Marietta and Christen Schmidt (Don) of Atlanta; his grandchildren, T. Draper Watson, III (Margaret), Forrest Ann Watson, Baker Watson, Vivian Watson, Hollis Schmidt and Sarah Schmidt (Mason Smith); his niece Laura Hunt Lawton (Todd); and his great-nephew Drew Lawton (Sophie). He is also survived by other relatives and lifelong friends who loved him like a brother.
