Ed Merritt Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ed Merritt (Perry, Georgia), who passed away on September 17, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Merritt, Sr. and May Miller Merritt; and his brothers, Paul Merritt Jr. and Ralph Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jernigan Merritt; his children, Mitchell Merritt (Sally), Michael Merritt (Shelli) and Angela Merritt Collier (Ted); his grandchildren, Stephanie Merritt, Melissa Merritt (Rich), Mackenzie Merritt, Megan Batts (Jonathan), Hannah Merritt, Presley Merritt, Colson Collier (Donna) and Caleb Collier; and his great grandchildren, Blakely, Stratton, Eliana and Shiloh.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Christ's Sanctified Holy Church (2470 US Hwy 41, Fort Valley, GA 31030). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
