He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Grubby Pitzer; his wife Joanie Brooks of Perry; his brother Marcus "Lucky" Pitzer; his daughters, Melissa Pitzer of Hahira and Jessica Pitzer of Cochran; his mother Betty Jo Pitzer of Statesboro; and his brothers, Jeff Pitzer of Florida and Lynn Pitzer (Michelle) of Statesboro. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
